Texas Hill Country Wineries’ (THCW) growth extends beyond winery members and Passport events. Recognizing the importance of fostering knowledge and expertise within the industry, the association has expanded its offerings to include a diverse range of industry education events. These events center around key aspects such as grape cultivation in the unique Texas climate, the art of winemaking, effective marketing strategies, and overall business development. By providing valuable resources and insights, THCW is dedicated to supporting Texas wineries throughout the state and empowering their continued success.
Join us for an insightful day of education, collaboration and connection as we explore the future of sustainable viticulture in Texas. In partnership with leading university researchers, the Texas Hill Country Wineries (THCW) is bringing together growers, industry professionals, and experts to share the latest knowledge, tools, and techniques driving sustainable practices in our vineyards.

Join us in exploring the compounds most associated with volatile acidity and oxidation: acetic acid, acetaldehyde, and ethyl acetate. We will sensorially evaluate “problem” commercial wines as well as prepared standards in a commercial wine. All wines presented will be analyzed for these compounds and we will have a discussion on the prevention, origin, and remediation options.
