Johnson City, TX  (July 22, 2025) — Texas Hill Country Wineries (THCW), the trade association representing 69 member wineries in the Texas Hill Country, today announces a strategic partnership with Wine Folly, the globally recognized wine education platform, to create an immersive, dynamic online Region Guide. This first-of-its-kind digital resource will introduce a national and international audience to one of the largest American Viticultural Areas, bringing greater awareness to the region’s growing prominence in the world of wine.


Wine Folly, renowned for its visually engaging and educational wine content, has created a guide that will allow wine enthusiasts and professionals everywhere to explore the Texas Hill Country through maps, infographics, and in-depth articles. Highlights include:

  • History & Heritage: A comprehensive timeline tracing the Texas wine industry from early grape plantings through the AVA’s official establishment in 1991 to the present-day.

  • Signature Grapes: Profiles of the Spanish, Rhône, and Italian varieties that flourish in the Hill Country—Tempranillo, Tannat, Mourvèdre, Sangiovese—alongside specialties like Viognier, Vermentino, and Albariño.

  • Terroir Deep Dive: Detailed information on the Texas Hill Country’s diverse terroir, including the geography, climate and soils that make the area so unique.
